Why px/s and words-per-minute are both here
Scroll speed is fundamentally a pixels-per-second value — how fast the text physically moves. But almost nobody thinks in px/s; people think in reading pace. The words-per-minute slider converts your target reading pace into the right px/s for your current font size and line width, so changing font size doesn't silently change how fast you appear to be reading.
What mirror mode is actually for
A real teleprompter rig places a half-silvered beam-splitter glass at 45° in front of the camera lens, with a screen facing up into it. The presenter reads the reflection in the glass while the camera shoots straight through it. Because a mirror reflection flips left-right, the screen underneath has to display pre-flipped (mirrored) text so it reads normally once reflected. If you're just looking at a laptop or phone screen directly — no glass, no rig — leave mirror mode off.
