Clipy keeps recordings and shared screenshots unlisted, serves share links only to people who have the URL, encrypts uploads in transit, and lets you delete those assets or your account. We do not sell your data or train models on your recordings.

Unlisted by default

Recordings aren't listed publicly. Only people with the link can watch, and you can delete any clip at any time.

Encrypted in transit

Uploads run over HTTPS. Cloud storage sits behind a modern provider with standard at-rest encryption.

No data sales

We use disclosed service providers to store and process recordings, deliver emails, and diagnose errors. We never sell your data or use it for advertising.

What we collect

  • The recordings, audio, and screenshots you choose to share, stored so your share links work.
  • Account info if you sign in: name, email, avatar from Google.
  • Basic technical info such as browser and device type, so we can debug and improve.

How do we handle recordings and screenshots?

  • Recording happens in your browser; the clip streams to our servers as it’s captured.
  • Recordings sit in our cloud storage, unlisted and only reachable via the share link.
  • Edited screenshots stay local unless you choose Share link; shared screenshots are then stored unlisted in the same cloud storage.
  • Redacted crash and error diagnostics may be sent to Sentry so we can diagnose failures across the web app, extension, server, and desktop app.
  • You can delete any recording or shared screenshot from your library. Deletion is permanent.
  • We do not sell your data, and we don’t train models on your recordings.

Your rights

  • Access and export the data we hold on you.
  • Correct anything inaccurate.
  • Delete your account and all recordings and shared screenshots.
  • Ask us to stop processing your data.
