Switch from Loom to Clipy.
Bring every video with you.
Atlassian retired Loom's free tier in February 2026. Existing-customer pricing climbed, viewer seats started auto-billing, and Loom's Trustpilot rating fell to 1.4 / 5. We built Clipy as a calm landing spot — free, with no card and no upgrade tier hidden behind a banner. Paste your Loom share links below and we'll drop them in your Clipy library as playable MP4s.
Free for individuals and small teams. No card. We're not running a freemium dark pattern — see our pledge.
Why people are leaving Loom in 2026
We're not building this on vibes — the timeline is verifiable against Atlassian's own announcements and the volume of complaints on Trustpilot, Twitter, and the Loom subreddit.
Atlassian rolled retroactive price increases into existing Business and Business+AI subscriptions. Annual reviewers reported jumps in the 30-100% range depending on seat count.
Loom's free tier was discontinued. Existing free accounts were capped at 5-minute recordings and a 25-video lifetime ceiling. New free signups were blocked entirely.
Everyone who ever watched a Loom on your workspace started counting toward your paid seat ceiling. Refugees on Twitter described it as 'paying for our viewers' lurking.'
Hundreds of reviews citing surprise billing, viewer-seat confusion, and the retired free tier. The community is actively shopping for alternatives.
How the migration works
We download each Loom from its public share URL, repackage it as a stable H.264 MP4, and drop it into your Clipy library. No re-upload, no manual download-then-upload step.
One click, no card. Free forever-ish — we don't have a paid tier waiting in the wings. See our pledge.
Or drop a CSV of 1–1,000 URLs if you're moving a whole library. We process server-side so your tab can close.
Each Loom is downloaded, repackaged as a clean MP4, and uploaded under your account at /videos. Stable share links forever.
Pick the path that fits your library
We meet you where you are — one video, a handful, or a whole workspace.
Drop a single Loom share URL into our public downloader and get an instant MP4. No signup needed.
Sign in with Google, paste up to 20 Loom URLs, and each one lands in your Clipy library as a playable video. Most people use this path.
Drop a CSV of up to 1,000 Loom URLs. We process it server-side within 24 hours and import every video into your library.
Got more than 20 Looms? Send us a CSV.
We process CSV uploads server-side within 24 hours and import every video into your Clipy library, free. We'll email you when it's done. No hidden quotas, no upgrade nag — but if your library is bigger than ~1,000 videos, drop us a line first so we can pace the import sensibly.
We'll email you when each batch finishes processing. The import runs on the same server-side worker as our recording pipeline — your tab can close.
What you actually get
A short list of things people ask before they hand over a 100-video library. If any of these is unclear, email us at support@clipy.online and we'll be honest about it.
Imported videos live under uploads/<videoId>.mp4 — the same durable B2 prefix we use for recordings. The Loom-downloader cleanup cron never touches them.
We don't hot-link Loom's CDN. Once we've imported a video it's yours; deleting it from Loom (or Loom losing it on a price-rev) won't break anything in Clipy.
Every migrated video gets a watch page, an embed code, a download button, and a public-link toggle — same as recordings made directly in Clipy.
Hit the X on any in-flight migration. Already-imported videos stay in your library; the queue stops draining. You can resume from where you left off.
The short answers.
Actually free. Unlimited recordings, unlimited recording length, unlimited viewers, no watermark, no credit card. We make money from the optional team workspace add-ons, not from the free tier.
