How it works

  1. 1

Get a Clipy recording of the meeting

Paste a link to a public Clipy recording, or record a new async meeting with the button above. Notes need a finished transcript, which happens automatically after upload.

  2. 2

    Generate the notes

Click Generate notes. Clipy reads the transcript and drafts an overview, pulls out anything explicitly agreed on as a decision, lists action items with an owner when one was clearly assigned, and notes what was left unresolved.

  3. 3

    Copy and share

Copy the notes as Markdown into a doc, ticket, or team channel. Action items keep a jump link back to the moment they were raised when a timestamp is available.

Skip the manual note-taking

Taking notes while also participating in a meeting means missing things. Recording the meeting and generating notes from the transcript afterward keeps the discussion focused and still leaves a written record.

Send the follow-up next

Once you have notes, turn them into a message with theRecording to Follow-up Email tool, or record your next discussion with theScreen and Webcam Recorder.

Nothing invented: only what was actually said

Meeting notes are only useful if they're accurate. This tool never invents a decision, an owner, or a commitment that wasn't stated in the recording — an empty 'Decisions' list is the correct output for a meeting that ended without one.

What happens without an AI key configured

If AI generation isn't available, the fallback still returns a usable overview drawn from the transcript's opening sentences (or the recording's existing stored summary, if one exists), with the decision, action-item, and open-question lists left empty rather than guessed.

Common questions

Will it assign action items to the wrong person?

It only names an owner when someone was clearly assigned the task in the recording. Otherwise the owner is left blank rather than guessed.

Why did I get a 'transcript not ready' error?

Transcription runs automatically after upload but takes a little time on longer recordings. Wait for the watch page to show the transcript, then try again.

Does this work for a one-person walkthrough, not just a meeting?

It works on any recording with a transcript, but it's built for a discussion with multiple speakers. For a solo walkthrough, the Video Summarizer or Video Chapter Generator usually fits better.
