Why a server-side transcript beats a browser one
Browser-based speech recognition (the Web Speech API) is unreliable across browsers, can't process a file that isn't actively playing, and has no offline mode. This tool runs a real speech-recognition model on our server against the actual audio bytes of your file, so the result doesn't depend on your browser, your microphone permissions, or you sitting through real-time playback while it listens.
What you get back
Every line of the transcript carries a timestamp, so you can jump straight to the moment something was said instead of reading the whole thing to find it. Download the plain-text version for pasting into docs and search, or the Markdown version for a transcript that already reads well as a formatted document.
Skip the upload entirely
If you're about to record something specifically to transcribe it, record it directly in Clipy instead. Every Clipy recording gets a transcript automatically — no upload step, and it stays attached to the recording's share page instead of living only in a downloaded file.
